To enable IPv6 on your CanIt appliance, you simply configure an interface to have an IPv6 address. If you have a host running "radvd" or some equivalent IPv6 Router Advertisement Daemon, your CanIt appliance should pick up an IPv6 address automatically. If you wish to configure a static IPv6 address, edit the file:

And add lines something like this: iface eth0 inet6 static

   pre-up modprobe ipv6
   address 2001:DB8:FE90:1:2:3:4:5
   netmask 64
   gateway 2001:DB8:FE90:1::1

Replace "eth0" with the appropriate interface and set the address, netmask and gateway appropriately. Then on the console, run:

   ifdown eth0
   ifup eth0

  /etc/init.d/networking restart

This will bring up eth0 (or whatever interface you chose) with an IPv6 address and CanIt will be able to process mail over IPv6. Lastly, edit the file:

And add the following line before the first FEATURE line:

   DAEMON_OPTIONS(`Family=inet6, Name=MTA-v6, Port=smtp')dnl

Then type:

   make -C /etc/mail && /etc/init.d/sendmail restart

And Sendmail should listen on IPv6 and IPv4.
